Mom and Dad's Anniversary

Mom and Dad have been together for 6 years - and 4 years ago yesterday they got married! So they went out for a nice dinner to celebrate and to go see the play "Wicked"(which they thought was sooo cool and they had a blast!). I know they had lots of fun, but I got to stay with Aunt Paris and I think we had more fun :)

Nevaeh is ready for her Sister

It was so cute today! Me and Nevaeh were talking about her birthday party this weekend and how all her friends were going to be there. She was very excited, and then asked me if the baby was going to be there too! It was so cute and she was very insistent that the baby be there at her party. What a good big sister :) wonder how long this will last! LOL

More Fun by the Pool

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Wow! what an exciting night we had the other day. On Friday night the temperatures were soaring to 120 by our house... and wouldn't you know, by 4pm we lost electricity (which means no air conditioning!) We kept holding on hoping the air would come back on soon, or thinking it would at least cool off as it got later in to the night....but neither of those happened.

Bed time was rough with our house at 90 degree's. We didn't get much sleep and were busy covering Nevaeh with cold wash cloths to prevent overheating. Around 11pm we moved downstairs as it was about 5 degree's cooler down there...but it didn't help much. By 1am with no sleep and still no air, I couldn't take it anymore and we decided to go find a hotel.

Well, every hotel was booked! After the first 5 hotels we tried, we decided to stop at "Harry's Family Restaurant" at 3am (oh-yes, it was everything you could imagine) but we got to sit in the air conditioning and eat some of the worst pancakes I've had in my life. (yummy!) However, Nevaeh thought it was pretty cool to be out so late at night. And It was a pretty interesting crowd at Harry's... mostly people who just left the clubs and were getting some food to sober up before heading home. But despite all that - we still made Harry's a fun dining experience.

Then the venture for a hotel continued. 3 hotels later (giving us a grand total of 8 hotels we stopped at) we finally found one with an opening. (Well, we did find one other hotel, but they were charging $250 for the night...no way!) As we settled into our bed at 4am - we were all pretty exhausted.

Then Nevaeh woke up ready to go at 8:30 am. (leaving the rest of us with only 4 hours of sleep). Thankfully the hotel had free breakfast - so we went down for some breakfast, came back to our room to watch some veggie tales and enjoy the air conditioning before we had to head back out in the heat. (by 9am this morning the temperature was already in the 90's so It was not looking like any relief was in sight).

After check-out at 11am - we decided to head back home to check the damage to our food, and to pack some stuff for the beach since it would be a good 20 degree's cooler there. And to our surprise, we walked back into our house with the air on! yea! I was so happy I started to cry. I don't think any of us will take our air conditioning for granted again!

It was quite an adventure...one I'd rather not do again...but hey... at least we had fun and some good family bonding time! ha ha ha!!!!
